M7801- This pattern right here has to be one of my new favorites for Fall. I love it because it was fairly simple to make (except for that double lapel, whew!). I also LOVE two of the views, View C and View D. In fact I have to make View C next. I used a cotton chino fabric (similar to twill) for this look.
The beautiful fabric comes in black, white, khaki, and olive. Head on down to JoAnn’s and check it out in the Tropic Time apparel collection. I bought it for 70% off. I used about 4 yards to achieve the look.
Even though it is a wrap dress, I do think that this can also serve as a wonderful coat pattern. Especially, for a Spring overcoat. The look can also be winterized with leggings, a turtleneck, and calf boots.
PATTERN: McCalls 7801
FABRIC: Olive Chino Fabric, Tropic Time Collection from JoAnn stores
DIFFICULTY: Intermediate
VIEW(S): View D
MODIFICATIONS: I made the sleeve a little longer, and the belt tie is longer too.
